Low Confidence Extraction
The Low Confidence Extraction notice means the AI was unable to confidently extract one or more fields from the invoice. The AI still extracts a value, but it highlights the field in yellow to let you know it needs review.
What Triggers It
This notice appears when the AI's confidence in one or more extracted fields falls below the threshold. Common causes include:
- Poor scan quality -- Blurry, faded, or low-resolution documents.
- Unusual invoice layouts -- Non-standard formatting that the AI has not encountered before.
- Handwritten text -- Handwritten notes, amounts, or corrections on the invoice.
- Multi-language invoices -- Invoices that contain text in multiple languages.
- Fields in unexpected locations -- Key data placed in unusual positions on the document.
Fields Most Commonly Flagged
While any field can be flagged, these are the most common:
- Vendor name
- Invoice number
- Invoice date and due date
- Individual line item details (descriptions, quantities, amounts)
- Tax and total amounts
How to Resolve
- Open the invoice detail page.
- Low-confidence fields are highlighted in yellow with a tooltip prompting you to review the value.
- Review each highlighted field against the source document visible in the PDF viewer on the left side of the page.
- Click on any incorrect field and enter the correct value.
- If many fields are wrong, consider reprocessing the invoice to get better results.
tip
Providing clear, high-resolution scans dramatically improves extraction accuracy. Scan invoices at 300 DPI or higher whenever possible.
