Security FAQ
Common questions about how Mod AI protects your data and maintains security.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your data is never used to improve the AI, and it is never shared with other customers or third parties. The AI processes your invoices in real time and does not store your data afterward. Your invoices, vendor records, and financial information remain entirely within your organization's secure environment.
How is my data secured?
All data in Mod AI is encrypted at every stage:
- In transit -- Every connection uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS), ensuring data is protected as it moves between your browser and Mod AI.
- At rest -- All stored data is protected with enterprise-grade encryption, including invoices, extracted data, vendor records, and audit logs.
Our platform is hosted on secure, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with network isolation, automatic encrypted backups, and 24/7 monitoring.
Is my data isolated from other customers?
Yes. Mod AI enforces complete data isolation between organizations. Your data is fully separated from other customers at every level of the platform. There is no way for one organization to access another's data.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in secure, enterprise-grade data centers. For specific region information, contact support@usemod.ai. All storage locations maintain the same encryption and security standards.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
If you cancel your Mod AI subscription, your data is retained for a defined period per our data retention policy, then securely deleted. This gives you time to export anything you need. For specific retention timelines and data export options, contact support@usemod.ai.
How does Mod AI detect fraud?
Mod AI includes multiple fraud detection mechanisms that work automatically:
- Email sender verification -- Invoices arriving via email are checked against known sender patterns. Suspicious or unrecognized senders are flagged with a notice for your review.
- Duplicate invoice detection -- The AI identifies potential duplicate invoices based on vendor, invoice number, amount, and date. Duplicates are flagged before they can be approved.
- Banking information change alerts -- Any changes to vendor banking details trigger immediate alerts, helping you catch business email compromise (BEC) and payment redirect fraud.
- AI-powered anomaly detection -- The system monitors for unusual patterns across your invoice data and flags anything that deviates from expected norms.
These checks run automatically on every invoice. You do not need to configure them.
